 Employee Education and Community Involvement | ||

Of all the 5 Ecotel globes, we believe that Employee education is most important to establish and maintain our 'green' objectives. In order to ensure the committed participation of the staff, we have a 'green team' headed by an Environment Officer who is responsible for training, conducting refresher courses, solving 'green' problems and generally creating and keeping alive an awareness of the environment. The Environment Officer also holds competitions every month - coining slogans, sketching and even eco-friendly Antakshari ! Employees are encouraged to come forward with new ideas. All this helps to keep the staff morale high while ensuring that the hotel's standards of 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' are maintained. We firmly believes that every individual should make a determined effort to preserve the environment for the next generation. We would like to encourage other hotels to follow our example and go 'green'. We are in the process of advising 3 other hotels on adopting environmentally friendly policies. The Orchid team lectured to 84 Housekeepers at a Housekeepers conference recently and even arranged for them to have a tour of the Hotel. | ||
