Over these years, we’ve not just introduced you to authentic flavours from four south Indian states – Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, but also have made you feel at your comfortable best with our warm traditional ways of hospitality. We serve authentic local specialties as well as some fusion recipes in an ambience that will remind you of a quite countryside in south India. Hosts and stewards dressed mundu or saree, the welcoming lamp and rangoli at the entrance and the soothing Carnatic music leaves back our guests some memories that they would cherish and make them come back again at South Of Vindhyas.

Master Chef, Mr. Bala Subramanian, with all his experience, has perfected the art of preparing some the most scrumptious cuisines from south India  Like the famous old saying “once you’ve settled down to eat, you shouldn’t get up”, we’ve always followed styles and ways of serving you, by keeping these traditions in mind. A sit-down buffet where trolleys with delicacies come to you, finger bowls and rose water and the decor filled with art works that are true to the south, everything calls for a unique experience, you wouldn’t want to miss.

From fresh appams, ravishing starters, refreshing beverages, delicious veg and non-veg curries, authentic rice preparations, here’s presenting some of the best dishes you should try out from our new menu:

Koomu Bharthad

A coorg specialty of fresh button mushroom tossed in garlic, spiced with pepper and finished with a hint of coconut vinegar. Did you know that people of Coorg are known as Kodavas, being known in India as “brave warriors” and members of the Indian warrior caste?!

Kodi Vepudu

Creation of our young budding chef in surge of inventing a unique fried & tossed with capsicum, sliced onion succulent chicken. This dish made its mark on the menu because of an internal chef’s competition at The Orchid.  Out of the 19 chefs who participated, this young talent won many hearts with this unique dish

Bamboo Shoot Curry:

A traditional forest vegetable in China for more than 2,500 years, bamboo shoots are not only delicious but are also rich in nutrients, and rank among the five most popular healthcare foods in the world. The bamboo shoot curry at South of Vindhyas is one of the most recommended dish because of its healthy high nutritive value.

Kozhi Melgu Chettinad

A sumptuous variation in the main course makes one try the tantalizingly spicy aroma of kozhi melagu Chettinad (chicken spiced with black pepper), a must-try for those who like their food hot!

Kalyera Pal Curry (Lobsters)

Lobster, long considered a luxury food item and bounded with chefs secret spices cooked to perfection.

Royala Pulusu

With its long coastline and many rivers, the state of Andhra has a significant and expanding fishing. At South of Vindhyas we make you experience fiery fresh prawns tossed in aromas from Andhra.

Kozhi Nadang Curry

With maximum reviews on the web on this dish at South of Vindhyas is for the very reason that it has been retained on our menu for a decade. With increasing popularity of this dish it is the most recommended dish even by top food critics.

Masa Kundapura

This dish was one of the popular dishes served to King Kundavarma who ruled Kundapura region once upon a time. A less known fact is that Kundapura is surrounded by water from 3 sides.

Meen Biryani:

Our Master Chef’s creation which you must have rarely got a chance to drool on! Get ready to be amazed by this one-of-its-kind dish.

It started with 2 long staying guests at The Orchid who had a bet that there is no such thing as fish biryani. To find the answer they met our master chef at South of Vindhyas who gave the answer by serving Meen biryani to them. The dish soon gained word of mouth publicity with guests walking in the restaurant asking for it even though it wasn’t there on our menu. We have proudly introduced Meen Biryani to our menu to raise the curiosity of guests who have never heard of it

Dates Relish

During Ramadan an Arabic guest gifted packets of the highest quality dates to the entire staff of the hotel. To appreciate this heartwarming gesture the chefs cooked a special Date Halwa for the guest. The guest liked the dish so much that he strongly recommended the dish to be served on our menu.
